I recently had the opportunity to visit BYD’s operations in China, an experience that provided a fascinating insight into their technology, innovation, and approach to the automotive industry. The trip was both informative and enjoyable, offering a valuable perspective on the global developments shaping the future of electric vehicles.
Over several days, we visited key BYD facilities, starting in Shenzhen and ultimately concluding our journey in Shanghai. The itinerary allowed us to explore various aspects of their operations, gaining a broader understanding of their manufacturing processes, research and development, and future aspirations.
A highlight of the visit was the chance to test drive and provide feedback on several of their vehicles, including the ATTO 3 and Sealion 7. Experiencing these cars first-hand offered an insight into their performance, technology, and overall driving experience, reinforcing the importance of continuous product refinement and innovation in the rapidly evolving EV market.
Immersive Experience Powered by Two EV’s
One particularly memorable part of the visit was an immersive theatre experience, which creatively showcased BYD’s core values and forward-thinking approach. It was an engaging way to understand the company’s long-term vision and how they see their role in the future of sustainable mobility.
The experience concluded with a celebration event, uniquely powered by two BYD electric vehicles. This was not only a demonstration of their battery technology but also an illustration of how innovation is embedded into every aspect of their work. It was a fitting and memorable way to round off the visit.
An Open Approach with Collaboration and Innovation in the Driving Seat
What stood out most was BYD’s openness to collaboration and feedback. They are actively inviting suppliers and partners to visit their operations over the next two years, creating an ongoing dialogue to listen, learn, and refine their approach.
As the industry continues to evolve, opportunities to engage with manufacturers on this level provide valuable perspectives that help shape the future of vehicle leasing and motoring overall.
