British Born!
The Toyota Auris, Derbyshire born and bred is a fierce contender in the hatchback car-buying category.
Its competitors, the likes of America's Ford Focus and Continental offerings from Citroen, Peugeot or Fiat are no match for our Auris, with its sleek and sporty performance, aerodynamic design, spacious interior and smooth ride putting this car right into lead, in my biased mind anyway.
As it is built in Britain there is no question about its quality, durability and reliability- all the ingredients for an enjoyable drive.
Sunderland’s success, the Nissan Qashqai made it’s name for it’s speedy production time, when the second millionth car rolled off the line just eight years after production first started.
The Qashqai is the most successful car ever manufactured in the UK, according to Nissan.
This comes as no surprise as the hunk is a great all rounder with its practical space, economical engine, comfort, speed and design.
This car was Nissans star, which undoubtedly turned around Nissans Fortunes in Europe.
The posh Oxford Born Mini has been in production since 2001. Mini is taking no chances with its highly anticipated newcomer.
The new model has been solely designed and engineered by BMW for the first time ever and the car is bigger, has a higher quality finish interior and a turbocharged engine.
It’s a good job as its rivals the Fiat 500 and Citroen DS3 have racked up almost every year’s Car of the Year Award since they were born.
Finally, we have the Merseyside medalist, the Range Rover Evoque.
This compact luxury crossover SUV has been produced since 2011 in a three and five door version.
The Evoque is designed to appeal to urban buyers and has been received very positively for its off-road capabilities, concept car styling, comfort and luxurious feel.
